Control Techniques and KB Electronics
For the better part of 50 years, Control Techniques has been supplying the automation industry with electric motor drives and control systems. Today, its product line consists of AC and DC motors, servo motors and drives, software, and integrated systems. The company’s AC drive systems range from micro panel-mounted to free-standing drives designed to handle 100 hp to 1,250 hp motors.
KB Electronics focuses its products on AC inverters, frequency drives, DC controls, and brushless DC drives. Its DC motor controller family is capable of controlling motors from the sub-fractional hp up to 5 hp, with some controllers being IP65-rated for a decentralized design approach. The company has over 50 years of service and is now based in Coral Springs, Florida.

Joining Forces
Both Control Techniques and KB Electronics have transitioned to Nidec Drives in a strategic decision to stay competitive in a growing market. The two companies have promised their customers that the change in branding will not affect the overall quality of their products and that they will continue to drive innovation within the electric motor drive industry.

Nidec Drives
With Nidec absorbing more drive and motor-focused manufacturers, the company hopes to offer its clients a wider product selection of quality drive components and motors. As a global company, Nidec can offer these products with short lead times and support products throughout the world. Both Control Techniques and KB Electronics will also benefit from the merger by having access to global manufacturing and a larger client base.
