Fanuc Opens New Facility

Fanuc’s new Michigan campus sits on 67 acres of land, bringing the company’s footprint in the state to over 2 million square feet. The new West Campus is equipped with a large warehouse space that can handle over 6,000 quick delivery robots and an even greater number of parts. The facility will provide customized automation systems and facilitate advanced manufacturing of products.

This multimillion-dollar expansion aligns with Fanuc's goal of delivering efficient solutions for diverse industries. According to Mike Cicco, Fanuc America's president and CEO, Fanuc is dedicated to supporting dynamic customer needs by providing innovative robotics and automation solutions.

Economic Development in Michigan

Both state and local officials have positively welcomed the Fanuc expansion. According to Quentin L. Messer, Jr., the CEO of Michigan Economic Development Corporation, who highlighted the ongoing impact of Fanuc's investment in Michigan, the investments align with the state's economic development strategy, "Make It in Michigan." In 2019, Fanuc invested over $187 million in establishing its North Campus facility, creating more than 400 jobs in the state. As the demand for profitability, reliability, and productivity in the manufacturing sector increases, companies are making bold investments to solidify and adapt to these changing needs. The new West Campus investment made by Fanuc not only poses a job creation medium for the people of Michigan, but also offers automation and robotics solutions that broaden the applicability in industries like automotive, agricultural, aerospace, food, warehousing, and pharmaceuticals.
