The internationally recognized industrial computer company OnLogic provides its global network of customers with rugged, compact, fanless Edge devices, Deep Learning PCs with configurable GPUs, Internet of Things (IoT) gateway systems, and Edge servers. To alleviate the headache associated with implementing and integrating AI-supported industrial hardware and software, the company announced the launch of its customer and application-focused AI consulting service.

“From Promise to Practice”

OnLogic leverages its network of AI solution specialists to help its industrial customers navigate the road to realizing their AI use case as a real-world AI-capable industrial system. OnLogic also provides customers with optional integration of advanced AI processing hardware from Hailo and processing technologies from Intel.

OnLogic takes its customers through a four-step AI adoption journey, beginning with an ideation workshop for those who do not know where to begin. OnLogic weighs the quantity and quality of customer data in relation to their desired outcomes to suggest the best approach. The second step involves creating a proof of concept (POC) that reflects an AI solution that adds value to the business. This step requires the pooling, annotating, and preparing the data, AI model selection and training, and framework setup. The third step develops the AI solution (via its refinement and tailored feature development) to prepare it for commercial deployment. Lastly, OnLogic supports its AI solution pioneers in the long term, assessing performance and keeping an eye on model drift bias, making adjustments where needed to ensure everything stays on track.

Enhancing AI Processing Power

A select few of OnLogic’s rugged, compact computers can be fitted with Intel GPUs from its Arc and Flex GPU lines. Customers can also integrate the Hailo-8 AI acceleration module from Hailo. Hailo specializes in developing and manufacturing high-performance AI processors for edge applications.

The Hailo-8 M.2 Module for AI applications features a high-power processor with 26 Tera-Operations Per Second (TOPS) and a full PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express) Gen 3.0 2-lane interface. With bidirectional data transfer up to 2 GB/s, this interface is appropriate for various peripherals with modest bandwidth requirements, such as SSDs or budget GPUs.

The M.2 module is intended for integration into current edge devices having an M.2 socket, facilitating instantaneous low-power deep neural network interpretation across multiple market categories. Users may quickly implement high-performance AI solutions by transferring their neural network architectures to the Hailo-8 via Hailo's Dataflow Compiler, along with its interoperability with standard AI frameworks.

Customers can also add different Intel GPU models to OnLogic’s Karbon 800 Series rugged computers. The Axial AC100 Series of industrial edge servers can now come with either Intel ARC A40 or A60 GPUs.

OnLogic’s consultancy service, coupled with its compact, high-power hardware, is intended to provide its customers with the tools and know-how required to eliminate hesitation (associated with the lack of knowledge surrounding AI adoption and implementation), foster confidence, increase AI application integration, improve safety, and realize intelligent, automated operations for global businesses.
