SMC Introduces Plug-in Solenoid Valve With Top-Ported Design
SMC's new compact solenoid valve expands the modular plug-in series with a new top-ported design for simplified installation and expanded flexibility.
SMC Corporation has recently introduced a top-ported compact 5-port solenoid valve. The leader in pneumatic technology has expanded the JSY3000 valve series in its latest iteration, providing access to optional pressure sensor compatibility and enhancing convenience and flexibility for industrial automation.

Key Features of the JSY3000 Valves
The new models of solenoid valves in the JSY3000 series offer flexible installation options in space-critical applications. The plug-in design provides convenience when it comes to installation or replacement, reducing downtime in the event of maintenance or swapping of components.

Now available with access ports on the top side, SMC's new valve offers compatibility with the optional PSE540 series of pressure sensors that can be added to monitor the output pressure of ports 4(A) and 2(B). Additionally, the new valve also comes with an optional KQ2S06-R1AS-X1517 one-touch fitting that streamlines the installation process with a fast and secure connection.
The JSY3000 series solenoid valves operate at a maximum frequency of 5 switching operations per second and an internal pilot pressure range of between 0.1 to 0.7 MPa. A range of manual override options allows for flexible and more ergonomic operation of the new solenoid valves. The new 24 V rated valve series consumes up to 0.4 W, which can be reduced to 0.1 W in a position ‘holding’ mode for certain models with power-saving circuits.
Installation Considerations and Compliance
For easy integration into various industrial systems regardless of space constraints, the new solenoid valve series from SMC has an unrestricted mounting orientation that streamlines the overall installation process. While the new top-ported design offers significant advantages, it is important to note that the mounting bases remain side-ported. This implies that close attention should be taken to the installation orientation for proper functionality.

The valves feature UKCA, CE, and RoHS compliance, meeting international safety and environmental standards. With a 150 m/s2 tested impact resistance and 30 m/s2 for vibration, the solenoid valve series can withstand harsh industrial conditions. This makes the new series suitable for a wide range of industrial applications.
With the growth of industrial technology, the need for optimized designs also increases. Solutions like SMC's new JSY3000 solenoid valve series with a top ported design represent a notable design optimization to cater to modern industrial needs. Its compact design, flexibility, and range of features make the new valve series a potential choice for directional control in a wide range of pneumatic systems.
