SMC Releases Actuator, Double-Acting Cylinder, and Stopper Cylinder
SMC’s HF2A-LEY actuator, C55/CD55 compact cylinder, and LEB electric stopper offer efficiency, durability, and safety compliance for robust industrial actuator performance.
A global leader in industrial automation solutions, SMC has added three new innovative solutions to its portfolio, which are designed to enhance reliability and efficiency in industrial applications. These latest additions include the HF2A-LEY Series rod-type electric actuator with IP69K protection from dust and water jet, the C55/CD55 series compact cylinder, and the LEB series electric stopper cylinder.
The HF2A-LEY Series Rod Type Electric Actuator
Designed to withstand harsh environments, the HF2A-LEY Series actuator features IP69K protection against dust, high temperature of up to 85°C, and high-pressure water jets of up to 10 Mpa. The smooth stainless steel 304 external housing reduces the accumulation of liquid residue, maintaining cleanliness. The actuator also utilizes NSF-H1 grade grease, which makes it ideal for food processing applications.
Additionally, using FDA and EC1935-compliant materials such as static seals and blue scraper makes the actuating solution meet strict food safety standards without compromising performance.

Available in three different sizes, the new electric actuator can handle maximum loads of up to 80 kg with a maximum stroke of up to 800 mm. Foot bracket and rod flange mounting variations make the installation flexible and easy.
The C55/CD55 Series Compact Cylinder
The new C55/CD55 series double-acting compact cylinders from SMC are available in two series variants: the standard version and the double rod variant. Designed to meet ISO standards (21287), the new solution provides customizable options for enhanced performance. Thanks to a 20 mm advanced bushing material, the compact cylinder has an improved anti-lateral load capacity by 1.8 times.
The standardization of the C55W series compact double rod makes the actuation solution versatile, with the rod shape end customization (-XA) catering to specific needs. When it comes to operation under high temperatures, the XB6 variant in the compact cylinder series boasts a wide range of operating temperatures ranging from -10°C to 150°C. The XB13 variant, on the other hand, is equipped to handle low-speed operations with speeds that range between 5 to 50 mm/s. Just like SMC's HF2A-LEY series electric actuator, the C55/CD55 series also features US FDA compliance.

The New LEB Series Electric Stopper Cylinder
SMC introduced the LEB Series Electric Stopper Cylinder to respond to customer demands for motorized conveyor line applications. The series features a dual control type with or without a controller, depending on the application requirements of the cylinder.

When it comes to installation, the LEB series electric stopper offers interchangeable mounting options, allowing for easy integration into existing systems without compromising the stopper's performance. For minimized downtime, the new stopper boasts a simple replacement option for its shock absorber with just a simple loosening of the set screw.
The controller stopper type in the LEB series comes in a compact design because of the horizontal mounting of the motor. It supports many communication protocols, such as PROFINET, EtherCAT, and IO-Link.
